These traditional wirework paniers are a common sight in
French kitchens. They were used to dry salad leaves after washing - a good
shake outside would do the trick. They are often reproduced today to bring a
rustic feel to the kitchen and are a useful way of storing eggs or fruit and
far more attractive than a plastic salad spinner.
This one is totally original and in excellent condition. The
wirework has been beautifully preserved with no damage or deterioration. The
twisted wire grip is sound and intact. It stands steady and proud on its 6
little feet.
