Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions under which West Egg Limited ("West Egg", "we" or "us") supplies furniture and home accessory products (the "Product") or services ("Services'") through its website www.westegg.co.uk to you (the "Customer" or "you").

Each Customer should ensure they read these terms and conditions prior to placing an order with us. Please note by placing an order for any Product or Service from West Egg, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

1.West Egg Information

West Egg is a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 7419850. The registered office address is The Old Barn, 8 Park Lane, Blunham, Bedfordshire MK44 3NH. This website is an official website of West Egg Limited, trading as West Egg and is copyrighted West Egg Limited 2010.

2. Order Process

Once a Customer places an order with West Egg, the Customer will receive an email receipt to acknowledge West Egg has received your order and payment. West Egg will call each Customer within 1 working day to verbally confirm receipt and discuss (if not already arranged) delivery arrangements.

3. Gift Vouchers

Gift Vouchers can be exchanged for any products at West Egg either online at www.westegg.co.uk or by phone on 01767 640695. Gift Vouchers cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash. Gift Vouchers can be used towards the purchase of goods at a higher price than its face value upon payment of the difference. West Egg is under no liability for replacement or refund should vouchers be lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed whether they have been redeemed or not. Gift Vouchers are only valid with the unique code shown on each voucher.

4. Description and Condition of Products

Please note that lots of the furniture and home accessories have been restored or reclaimed in some way and in the majority of cases, are antique or vintage pieces. They are not presented in 'perfect' condition; each piece has its own story to tell and the bumps, scratches and marks picked up over the years add to the patina and history of the piece. We provide a full description, high quality images from several angles and measurements to show each Product as accurately as possible. Despite this, some small variations may occur (e.g. colour). If you require further clarification of a Product please contact us for further information. It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure the condition and presentation of their purchase is satisfactory for their personal requirements.

5. Payment

All Products remain the property of West Egg until full payment has been received.

6. Pricing and VAT

West Egg is not VAT registered so is not obliged to charge VAT. Prices quoted by West Egg do not include delivery charges unless otherwise specified. Prices may change at any time without notice. Please contact us if you require a quote for the price of delivery.

7. Delivery

Accessory Products will be packaged and sent within 2-3 days of ordering. We use Royal Mail and ParcelForce depending on the size of the Products. The Customer has the option of selecting either Standard 1st class or Special Delivery (recorded delivery) for delivery.

For Furniture Products we use reliable national couriers who deliver to mainland UK. West Egg prefers to arrange delivery within 7-14 working days wherever possible. In order to keep delivery costs as low as possible we either arrange delivery ourselves or use a local trusted courier company. Alternatively Customers are always welcome to collect their purchases from West Egg directly from the studio and workshop in Blunham, Bedfordshire.

If a Customer wishes to make a change to the delivery time or cancel a delivery, West Egg requires 2 working days notice prior to the date of delivery. Please also note there will be an admin charge of 5% of the retail value of the Product if a Customer cancels or changes the delivery date without sufficient notice.

It is the responsibility of the Customer to make sure the Product(s) ordered will fit through the delivery route into the desired room in their property. Each product description includes the height, width and depth so please ensure you check this before ordering. Delivery is 'kerb-side only' and the Customer is responsible for arranging appropriate transfer into their property.

Each Customer must carefully check the Product upon delivery. In the case of Furniture Products, Customers must sign and acknowledge their safe receipt to the carrier.

For international delivery, please note that customs, import duties or other associated fees are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges, and cannot tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country.

We recommend contacting your local customs office for current charges before you order, so you are not surprised by charges you were not expecting.


8. Christmas Delivery 2013 - Last Order Dates

Accessory Products
First Class last orders will be 20th December 2013 at midday.
Special Delivery last orders will be 23rd December 2013 at midday.

Furniture Products
Please call us on 01767 640695 or email info@westegg.co.uk for pre-Christmas delivery availability.

Gift Vouchers
Last orders will be 24th December 2013 at midday for emailed vouchers, or 20th December 2013 at midday, for hard copy vouchers.

9. Storage

A Customer can request that West Egg store their purchase(s). There is no charge for this service up to 4 weeks. After this time a storage fee will apply. Please contact us if you have any queries.

10. Returns

A customer may return a Product for any reason within 14 days of the date of delivery. The Customer will receive a full refund (including postage and packaging) provided the item is returned to West Egg at its premises in Blunham, Bedfordshire in its original packaging, undamaged and in a completely saleable condition. Accessories Products must be returned by Royal Mail (recorded postage stamp) and Furniture Products must be returned by courier. In either case, the cost of return delivery of the returned Product is to be borne by the Customer. The refund will be processed once the Product has been safely returned and as soon as possible, in any case no later than 30 calendar days of the date of return of the Product.

11. Liability

West Egg's liability for losses is strictly limited to the amount paid by the Customer for a Product or Service. Neither West Egg nor any director, employee, affiliate or other representative will be liable for any loss, damage or expense arising out of or in connection with the supply of goods or services offered through this website including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss or damage, loss of data, income, profit or opportunity, loss or damage to property and claims by third parties, even if West Egg has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage and/or such loss or damage were reasonably foreseeable. The exclusions above and limitations of liability shall not apply in respect of liability in negligence for death or personal injury.

12. Amendment to Terms and Conditions
